Live Nostalgic Piano and Singalongs

While studying music at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, my professor suggested that I play piano at nursing homes to prepare for my recitals. I was rather stubborn student, but for some reason this piece of advice made sense to me. So I started to play at nursing homes to help prepare me for my graded performances. Along the way, I fell in love with the people I played for. I witnessed people come out of their shells and sing along with me, and hum to their favorite tunes. When visiting Assisted Living I would have stimulating conversations with retired musicians and music lovers. I always walked away feeling like I gave something but I received so much as well.

In 2019 I started a company to serve Nursing Homes though nostalgic entertainment and music education. But due to the pandemic, I decided to put my work online.

I also saw an overwhelming need for seniors to engage during this time. So I wrote letters that nursing home staff could print off and give to isolated seniors.

Today, I am revitalizing my program by leading engaging singalongs in the South Central Virginia area.
